First Crush Art of Blending Wine seminars (see event calendar for dates and times) allow you to experiment with the blending step of the winemaking process. They are well suited for beginners and afficianados alike and are a fun way to learn about the sensory evaluation of wine varietals as well as the art of blending wine.

You'll get to sharpen your palate and gain a new understanding of why blending is an important part of making great wines. You’ll also taste some great Paso Robles wine varietals and have the opportunity to purchase your own privately labeled, custom blend made from 100% premium quality Paso Robles wine varietals.

At the First Crush blending seminar, you’ll be guided through the blending process by our winemaker.  You'll learn some history about blending wines, then learn how to evaluate a selection of 3-5 base wines for aromatics, flavor, texture and aging characteristics.  After learning the nuances of each wine, we’ll give you the tools that real winemakers use (graduated cylinders and Erlenmeyer flasks) and let you create several unique blends.

First Crush makes your custom winemaking experience simple, and fun! As a First crush winemaker, you can purchase as little as 1 case (per person or couple) of your own private blend. Such small quantities of privately-labeled premium wines are almost unheard of in this industry. The cost of purchasing wine is in addition to the blending seminar admission and includes a private label you may design from our label template selections. You may also purchase or provide a custom label for your wine for an additional fee.

Blending seminars are great for group events such as wedding parties, businesses, families, groups and teams.   They also make great corporate team-building exercises.
