First Crush is located and makes its wines at the Silver Horse Winery in San Miguel (just 10 minutes northeast of Paso Robles.) The winemaking team at First Crush is directed by Silver Horse winemaker Steve Kroener and includes Becky and Lowell Zelinski as assistant winemakers.

First Crush also has the benefit of the association of winemaker Craig Reed, owner/winemaker of Tassajara Cellars. Craig is the former winemaker for Martin & Weyrich and also makes his Tassajara wines at Silver Horse.
